Where can a new faculty member find information on the availability of grants and other assistance to help start a resarch program?

First, check with your department or college main office about any internal seed funding for individual faculty needs. Some of the larger UF college have internal competitions for small grants. The Office of Research and Graduate Programs (RGP) offers a limited number of support programs for larger, multidisciplinary programs, conferences and workshops, graduate student travel, etc. See Guidelines. For external grant funding information, the RGP Funding Opportunities webpage at offers several keyword-searchable funding databases for use by UF faculty, staff and students. Individual faculty may also subscribe to RGP’s biweekly funding opportunity newsletter by sending an email to caroleo@ufl.edu. Faculty may also consult with a Senior Information Specialist in the RGP Program Information Office, 256 Grinter Hall, 392-4804, regarding a personalized funding search.
