How can UF students find projects that are in need of research assistants?
The UF Honors Office maintains a database of all UF research projects that could involve undergraduate students. The purpose of this database is to match undergraduates with researchers in all fields in the university. With the University of Florida’s increasing emphasis on both graduate AND undergraduate research, students will find that more and more professors will need research assistants. If you find a project in the database of interest to you, contact the faculty member directly to ascertain his or her research assistant needs.
Students interested in obtaining a research position should also investigate the University Scholars Program (USP), which provides support for undergraduate students in all disciplines to apply for one on one research positions with distinguished faculty. For temporary, research-related positions, students should contact their college and department and also check the job vacancy postings on the UF Personnel Services website under “Looking for Employment?”
