How can I get information on the College Level Academic Skills Requirement (CLAST)?
The College Level Academic Skills Requirement (CLASR) is designed to measure the communication and computation skills judged by Florida statutes and the State Board of Education as necessary for successful performance and progression through the baccalaureate level. Satisfaction is achieved through approved course work, and SAT/ACT test scores. There are four categories: essay, English language skills (writing), reading and mathematics.
All students must meet the requirement to demonstrate competency of basic college communications and mathematics skills. Completing CLASR is required for (1) award of an associate of arts certificate from a Florida public community college or university or (2) receipt of a baccalaureate degree from a Florida public university.
