I have individual coverage and am expecting a baby. When should I add my baby?

It is strongly encouraged that employees anticipating the birth of a child to change to family coverage as soon as they become aware of the pregnancy. However, if individual coverage is in effect at the time of the baby’s birth, you will have 60 days from the birth of the child to enroll in family coverage. The effective date of coverage will be retroactive to the beginning of the month in which the child is born and premiums will be due accordingly. For more information, visit the Benefits Web site.

Can I claim prior state service with a state agency or the State University System (SUS) toward higher annual leave accrual?

Yes, upon verification of employment service. If you make application for service credit for leave accrual within 60 days of your employment with the University of Florida, the service credit will apply immediately. If you apply after 60 days, leave accrual will apply from the date Processing and Records is notified. Please do not confuse this verification of prior service with application for service credit toward pension vesting.
