The Gator Link Internet dial-up service can be used to connect your home computer to campus computers, to other computers in the world, or to the Internet. Dial-up differs from the high speed connections because it uses a modem and a phone line which are slower than cable, DSL or campus Ethernet connections.

Dial-up service is available as a Gator Link service to all faculty, staff and students at the University of Florida for the rate of $5.00 per month. This monthly charge provides you with 3600 minutes (60 hours) of local use. You may extend your dialup time by authorizing charges beyond your allocated use ($.0083 per minute beyond baseline allocation).

The Gator Link dialup service consists of a pool of 56 Kbps V.90 modems connected to Cisco communications servers. A communications server is a device that links your modem connection to the UF campus computer network and to the Internet off-campus.

This service is for your use while at the University of Florida. It may not be used for commercial activities. All federal, state or local laws and University of Florida policies must be adhered to while using your account.
